I used to be a tool junkie. Every week there was a new note-taking app, a new task manager, a new code editor. The search for the perfect setup was itself a form of procrastination.

These days my stack is boring and I like it that way. A plain text editor, a terminal, a browser, and a notebook. That's it.

The notebook

Physical, not digital. There's something about writing by hand that forces you to think before you write. My notebook is where ideas go before they become code or blog posts.

The terminal

Most of what I do happens in the terminal. Git, file management, quick scripts — it's faster than clicking through a GUI once you know the commands.

The best tool is the one you stop thinking about. When your setup disappears into the background, you can focus on the actual work.
